MArtap is the acronym for Massachusetts (MA) Rural Transit Assistance Program (rtap). This program is a federally-funded, state-administered program that offers training, education and other benefits to public transportation providers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MArtap receives its funding from the Federal Transit Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. Here in Massachusetts, the state's Executive Office of Transportation (EOT) has contracted with MARTA, the Massachusetts Association of Regional Transit Authorities to administer the MArtap program. What's really important to you, as a beneficiary of MArtap, is to have an understanding of MArtap services. For the most part, MArtap is designed to meet the needs of transportation providers in rural and small urban regions of Massachusetts, although agencies that serve urban populations are eligible for help as well.
